  1. CNC Shark Basics

    Date / Time: March 21, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ During this class, attendees will explore the exciting possibilities of woodworking with the use of a computerized CNC machine. The demo is structured around the CNC Shark HD4. A demonstration of V-Carve's Aspire software will be provided during the time peiod.
  2. Make & Take: Band Saw Box

    Date / Time: March 22, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $100.00
    ▸ Students will learn how to make a one of a kind gift box, cut out with a standard bandsaw. The class takes you through all of the steps from design and layout through cutting and sanding using a band saw and spindle sander to finishing and flocking. Each student will work on a box of their own. Class includes all materials.
  3. Hand Cut Dovetail Joints

    Date / Time: March 23, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ This class is designed for the student who wants to go, "old school", and learn the proper method of cutting dovetails by hand with a dovetail saw. The proper layout method will be presented, along with a discussion of the proper tools necessary to cut a crisp dovetail. Each student will spend some time practicing cutting a set of dovetails. All materials are included.
  4. Building Shutters

    Date / Time: March 24, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ Building shutters has traditionally been a process that required a lot of set up work, jigs, and other assembly devices that made for a demanding and challenging process. With the introduction of the Rockler Shutter System much of this has changed. Most woodworkers with modestly outfitted shops, can produce shutters that rival custom made shutters, at a fraction of the cost. Each student will learn all of the steps necessary to desigh and build plantation shutters. The student will walk away with a minature shutter that they have built. Shutter making materials are included.
  5. Turning Acrylic Pens

    Date / Time: March 25, 2018 (11:00 am - 3:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $75.00
    ▸ This class is designed for the pen turner that is ready for the next step in their craft. Acrylics open up a wide variety of options and colors available to the pen turner. There are some tricks to turning acrylics successfully. This class will cover the techniques to assure a positive result. All materials are included. The "Introduction to Turning" and "Introduction to Pen Turning" classes are recommended prerequisites.
  6. Make & Take a Knife Kit

    Date / Time: March 27, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ Students will make a knife using the Rockler Semi-Skinner Knife Kit, and wooden scales. All materials are included.
  7. Introduction to the Router

    Date / Time: March 29, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ Students will learn about one of the most versatile woodworking tools in the shop, the router. This class is designed for the student with little or no experience in the use of the router. The class will focus on using the router as a hand held power tool and as a stationary tool mounted in a router table. All materials are included.
  8. Machine-Made Dovetail Joints

    Date / Time: March 31, 2018 (1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
    Fee to Attend: $65.00
    ▸ Students will learn the techniques necessary to make machined half blind dovetail joints and through dovetails. The class will use the Rockler Dovetail Jig differences with the Porter Cable Dovetail Jig and Leigh Dovetail Jig will be discussed. Each student will be given the opportunity to set up and practice each joint. All materials are included.

▸ This demo will be focused around advanced Router Table techniques doing door construction.

▸ This demo will focus around the safe use of the table saw by using the appropriate jigs such as Micro Jig push block, Rockler straight line rip/taper jig and the Rockler Crosscut sled.

shop guyThe session is free and open to anyone who has an interest in carving. Just bring a project or bring your questions and learn more about the craft of wood carving from a friendly group of like minded individuals. A good sense of humor and a willingness to laugh at old jokes is always appreciated.

  ▸ Free! Every Tuesday
American FlagThe session is free to partake in, a small group of veterans come into the shop where the group create a woodworking project and enjoy some wood shop therapy.
