If you're a do-it-yourselfer with children (or grandchildren), you can build this simple toy chest and bench project. A fun and simple way to add storage space to any child's room, it features a safe, sturdy design, a handy bench top perfect for reading or tying shoes and, of course, plenty of room for toys inside. Cut from a single sheet of plywood, the project requires just six pieces in all and includes full-size patterns for all the curves.
To build, simply trace the pieces onto plywood, cut everything out, sand and assemble with glue and nails. Finish with nontoxic paint and decorate with stencils (as pictured) or decals, or personalize the project with the child's name.
The toy chest and bench measures about 32" L x 17" D x 24" H (at the back) and can be mounted on casters for easy mobility. ☑ Get the plans
