| The stud layout on the wall you plan to mount your mantle plays an important role in the construction of our custom and basic mantles. The standard layout is 16" centers. However, if you think your walls are have a different layout (such as 24" centers), please try to locate the studs on the wall and send us the details.
The sketches below will give you an idea what we are looking for, as far as layout goes. We can then place the keyhole fittings in the proper place for secure and accurate mounting. For more information, check out our page on mantle hardware. |
(Note: A stud sensor comes in really handy for this project.) If you are unable to locate the studs, which can happen, don't worry ... we always provide with sheetrock / drywall anchors with each mantle order. |
